2024 WRFL MEN’S FIXTURES RELEASED
Braybrook will host Laverton in a blockbuster Good Friday fixture on March 29, opening the 2024 Western Region Football League season.
The WRFL revealed the TIV Division 1 and Division 2 Men’s fixtures today, with a number of key matches to look forward to.
With just over 100 days until the first bounce, we are excited to see another competitive season in 2024.
While we have one match scheduled for Good Friday, Sunshine take on Albion in the week prior, Round 1 will officially kick-off on April 13 for all Men’s competitions.
The opening round of TIV Division 1 will see Werribee Districts unfurl their Premiership flag against Point Cook Centrals while newly promoted Parkside battle it out against last years runners up, Point Cook.
Hoppers Crossing and Werribee Districts will renew their rivalry on Anzac Day, with new traditions formed in Division 2 with Braybrook hosting Albion and Sunshine playing North Footscray.
Parkside will unfurl its Division 2 Premiership flag in Round 2, when they go head-to-head with Spotswood at Merv Hughes Oval.
Suns will unfurl their Division 3 Premiership flag in Round 1, when they battle it out against Laverton.
Another marquee match in 2024 will be between Point Cook and the Yarraville Seddon Eagles as they continue their King’s Birthday weekend tradition. The two teams are fixtured to play on Saturday 8 June at Saltwater Reserve.
As TIV Division 1 becomes a nine-team competition, the finals system will revert back to a top-five finals system from a top-four finals system in 2023 with the Grand Final scheduled for Saturday 21 September.
The Division 2 competition will see a top six-finals system played over four weeks with the Grand Final scheduled for Saturday 14 September.
The WRFL junior competitions will start on April 14, with the newly named St Vincent’s Private Hospital Werribee Senior Women’s competition slated to begin that same weekend.
The 2024 Netball competition will begin on April 12.
Senior Women’s, Under 18, Juniors, Thirds and Netball fixtures will be released in the new year, once team numbers have been confirmed.
