23RD PLAYERS TO LINE UP IN ROUND FIVE
In Round 5 of the 2025 football season Senior clubs have the chance to elect and play a 23rd player for the first time this year.
The 23rd player rule will see players who turn 19 (in 2025) or aged younger, who are yet to play three or more senior (first 18) career games, feature as the 23rd player on their respective club’s senior team.
The rule was introduced at the beginning of 2020 and first implemented in the 2021 season.
Sixteen clubs across TIV Division 1 and the Division 2 competition have been picked a 23rd player this weekend.
There will be several more opportunities for clubs to use a 23rd player later this year.
