The penultimate round of the St Vincent’s Private Hospital Werribee Senior Women’s Competition saw two sides held scoreless, big scores and last ditch efforts to lock in ladder spots.
North Footscray Senior Women vs Laverton Magpies Senior Women
0.4-4 defeated by 33.11-209 Laverton Magpies Senior Women won by 205 points
Laverton romped home to a massive 205-point win over North Footscray, making a firm statement ahead of finals.
Nine individuals made up the Magpies scoring power, with Kayla Ravanello (9 goals) and Shae-Lee Murphy-Burke (7 goals) leading the way and earning time in best. Samantha Evans and Amy Duggan fought hard for the Devils and were named amongst the best.
West Footscray Senior Women vs Suns Senior Women
5.8-38 defeated 2.3-15 West Footscray Senior Women won by 23 points
The Roosters welcomed the Suns to Skinner Reserve, playing out a contested battle of footy over four quarters to secure a 23-point win.
Jamie Te Pania and Bonnie Lea Brown were the stand outs for the Suns, whilst Bo Crabtree and Emmy Hudson were influential for West Footscray.
Wyndhamvale Senior Women vs Point Cook Centrals Senior Women
14.19-103 defeated 0.0-0 Wyndhamvale Senior Women won by 103 points
Over at Wyndhamvale South Reserve, the Falcons continued their winning run, keeping the Point Cook Centrals Senior Women scoreless in their 103-poing victory.
Chloe Prior starred for the home side and was well supported by teammate Jessica Spall inside fifty — with Spall kicking a game-high 4 majors. Nya Chuol and Chloe Elkington were amongst the Sharks’ best.
Yarraville Seddon Eagles Senior Women vs Werribee Centrals Senior Women
6.6-42 defeated 4.3-27 Yarraville Seddon Eagles Senior Women won by 15 points
Yarraville Seddon mounted a surprise upset over Werribee Centrals, downing the thirf-placed side by 15-points at Yarraville Oval.
Eagles’ Xanthe Chard and Kira Dawson were impressive, with Chard bagging two majors for the day. Meghann Basto and Kyleisha Kinces stood up for the Centrals, with Kinces contributing two goals to the Centurions final score.
Caroline Springs Senior Women vs Parkside Spurs Senior Women
0.0-0 defeated by 20.24-144 Parkside Spurs Senior Women won by 144 points
To round out the Saturday fixture, Caroline Springs went head-to-head with the undefeated Spurs, with Parkside holding their hosts hostage in a 144-point workover.
Jessica Mercia and Elyza Binuya worked tirelessly for the Lakers, whilst Naomi Diong and Giselle Lambley (5 goals) led the way for the Spurs.
