COATES TALENT LEAGUE SET TO BEGIN
Forty-six players from across the Western Region Football League will be involved in Coates Talent League programs in 2023.
The Western Jets’ squads will feature 45 players from across the league this season, while the Calder Cannons will also have Flemington Juniors’ Will Richter listed on their extended squad for the upcoming season.
St Bernard’s star Daniel Gilham, who last year claimed the SEDA Under 16 Division 2 Best and Fairest, and young gun Kristie-Lee Weston-Turner, who won the VU Polytechnic Under 18 Girls award, have both been named on the Jets’ list after impressive seasons with their respective clubs.
The Coates Talent League will officially begin in March, with the Girls’ season starting on March 18th and the Boys’ season starting on March 25th. Grand Finals for both competitions will be played over the September 23rd – 24th weekend.
In the Under 18 Girls, Western Jets have a bye in the first two rounds, but in Round 3, play in Tasmania on April 1. In the Under 18 Boys, Calder Cannons play Gold Coast Suns on Sunday, March 26th and Western Jets play Sydney Swans on Saturday, March 25th.
