PARKSIDE PREVAIL IN THRILLING MATCH

Parkside have prevailed over Wyndhamvale in a spectacular comeback in Round 4 of the Division 2 competition.

Wyndhamvale had a 14-point lead at half time, with Parkside not yet having made it onto the scoreboard. However, by the close of the third quarter Parkside were 2.6(18) trailing only 2 points behind Wyndhamvale 3.2(20).

Shaun Campbell was the lead goal-scorer for Parkside with 2 goals and Jy Lambley (Parkside) and Liam Scarborough (Wyndhamvale) were each named best on ground for their respective teams.

Newport have triumphed in a spectacular 20.9(129) win over Braybrook 2.4(16) after playing a brilliant round of footy.

Braybrook fought hard in the second half but unfortunately couldn’t close the 56-point gap that was on the scoreboard at halftime.

Newport player Nayef Hamad was lead goal-scorer for his team with four goals, also earning himself a spot in the team’s best players list for round 4.

Aidan O’Rafferty scored one goal for Braybrook and was named best on field for his side.

Albion have come out on top against North Footscray in a well-fought 14.12(96) to 6.4(40) win.

Albion secured a 20-point lead in the first quarter that grew to 46 points by half time. North Footscray had the home advantage and battled hard for the win, but it wasn’t enough as Albion kept up the fight for all four quarters.

Benjamin Doll had a spectacular game with six goals, also securing himself a spot in his team’s best players list for round 4. North Footscray player Sam Denby-Blake was named best on ground for his team.
