TARNEIT TAKE THE WIN
Tarneit have prevailed over Laverton in a stunning Rookie Me Division 3 Round 5 clash over the weekend.
Tarneit took the lead at quarter time with just a one goal gap, however they were able to build this margin at each quarter, eventually finding themselves 19 points ahead at the end of the third.
Laverton were always in the game though, fighting hard to ensure they returned as many points as possible, scoring three of the five goals in the final quarter of the game.
Matthew Vorbach for Laverton was to thank for two of those final goals, landing himself a spot on the squad’s best on ground list for Round 5.
Tarneit’s Zach Thornton had a ripper of a game, scoring his team two goals and being named the team’s best on ground.
The Suns have defeated West Footscray in a 17.17(119) to 9.6(60) victory.
West Footscray made a stunning comeback in the second half, scoring eight of their nine goals, even scoring five goals to the Suns three in the third quarter. However, after a not so strong start to the game, The Suns lead proved to be too much.
Dean Cachia had a standout performance for the Suns, scoring seven goals for his side and securing himself the position of best on ground. Additionally, West Footscrays Zachary Hore was his teams best on ground after an excellent show for his side.
Albanvale have another win under their belt after defeating North Sunshine 32.19(211) to 2.3(15).
North Sunshine fought gallantly throughout the match, with Barkey Bauman-Ellis having a spectacular game for the side as their Round 5 best on ground.
Albanvale’s team had 13 goal scorers for the game, Nathan Johnson being the standout with eight goals and the best on ground title.
