VALE SHANE MOLONEY

The Western Region Football League wishes sincere condolences to the Moloney family after the passing of Shane Moloney.

Shane was the former administrator of the Sunshine Football Club and has been involved with the club for many years.

“Shane started playing with Sunshine YCW in 1968 as a 10-year-old. Shane played his way through the junior ranks and coached the Under 13’s in 1979 when he was 19 years old. Shane played over 200 games with SYCW and was the Centre half forward in the reserves premierships of 1981 and 1982, “ a post on the Sunshine Football Club Facebook page stated.

“A tireless worker who loved to push the boundaries to make the club a better place for all.”

The league administration and the wider WRFL community’s thoughts are with the Moloney family.
