23RD PLAYERS NAMED FOR ROUND 13
Round 13 of the TIV Division 1 and Division 2 football season will see a number of clubs take advantage of the 23rd player rule.
The 23rd player rule allows a player who turns 19 (in 2024) or aged younger – who is yet to play three or more senior (first 18) career games – feature as the 23rd player on their respective club’s senior team.
The rule was introduced at the beginning of 2020 and first implemented in the 2021 season.
A player’s points allocation under the AFL Victoria Community Club Sustainability Program shall not count towards his team’s points total when that player is playing as a 23rd player.
Ten clubs across TIV Division 1 and the Division 2 competition have picked a 23rd player to line-up in their senior side this weekend.
