
FALCONS POST FIRST WIN, LAKERS CLAIM GRAND FINAL REMATCH

Round 6 saw some of the great rivalries of the St Vincent’s Private Hospital Werribee Senior Women’s competition and a huge win for the young Sharks of the West.
A grand final rematch played out on Friday night, under lights at Galvin Park, with Caroline Springs easing past the reigning premiers Werribee Centrals by 84 points.
Nyomi Stowers and Alana Ellis starred for the Lakers and were named in the best, with the latter kicking four majors for the visiting side.
For the Centurions Julia Nash and Taylah Bloss were the top performers across four quarters.
On Saturday morning, the Suns hosted Parkside at Goddard Street Reserve, with the Spurs keeping the hosts scoreless in a 54-point win.
Nadine Lampard and Ashlea Block led the way for Parkside while Stacy Rigon continued her dangerous form in front of the big sticks, bagging five goals.
Sharni Currie and Hannah Duff impressed for the home side.
Wyndhamvale and West Footscray added another chapter to their rivalry, going head-to-head at Wyndhamvale South Reserve with the Falcons coming away the eventual victors in a hard-fought match.
Ashton Sly and Janelle Sammut produced courageous footy for the Roosters, but the visitors were unable to make the most of their scoring opportunities inside 50 with the home team claiming a four-point win.
Mariah Burton continued a run of strong form off the back of her Interleague best on ground performance a week earlier and was well supported by the defensive efforts of Rachael Sherriff in the backline with both named in the best for the Falcons.
To round out the fixture, Point Cook Centrals executed a huge win over North Sunshine, piling on a massive 204 points by the final siren.
Charli Sette, in her first game of the season for the Sharks, and Chloe Elkington each kicked four majors and finished among the best players for their efforts.
Amy Duggan and Ikesha Alexander worked tirelessly under pressure for the Roadrunners.
