North Footscray def AlbanvaleÂ
North Footscray has again showcased its high-powered offence, registering a 90-point victory over Albanvale in a commanding four quarter display.
The home side were in control from the outset, booting five first quarter goals to establish a strong early lead while restricting Albanvale to just a single major. Their pressure and clean ball movement continued in the second term, where they exploded with eight goals to blow the margin out to 67 points at halftime.
Any hopes of an Albanvale comeback were quickly shut down when play resumed after the main break, with the Devils maintaining control through the midfield and continuing to capitalise on their forward entries. By three quarter time, the margin had stretched to 80 points as the contest turned into a one sided affair.
North Footscray finished strongly, adding four final quarter goals to secure a comprehensive 21.9 (135) to 6.9 (45) win. Kyle Rodgers was again one of the best for the Devils and Lynden Dunn was the standout up forward, finishing with seven goals while Jarrod Johns provided strong support with three majors.
For Albanvale, Daniel Granato and Reece Field each kicked two goals, but they were unable to match North Footscray’s intensity and scoring power.
