BALLARD PREDICTS MORE ATTACKING FOOTY

Werribee Centrals coach Glen Ballard says we should expect a more attacking brand of football from his team in 2021.

Werribee Centrals’ Victoria University Polytechnic Senior Women’s season begins on April 17, with the team going head-to-head with West Footscray at Shorten Reserve at 5pm.

Ballard, who has led the Senior Women’s team for several seasons, says pre-season and the lead-up to the first game of the year had not changed in comparison to previous years despite the added layer of COVID protocols.

“Pre-season for us didn’t really change, it was all ball work with lots of running involved,” he said.

Ballard said he missed everything involved with footy after a year off, saying he missed the playing group, training nights and every aspect of game day.

This season the WRFL Senior Women’s competition will begin as one division and then after 10 rounds, the competition will be split into two.
