BUKU BECOMES A BULLDOG ROOKIE
St Albans young gun Buku Khamis was tonight selected by the Western Bulldogs as a Rookie.
The exciting player was overlooked in the NAB AFL Draft, but was given his chance when the Bulldogs added him to their Rookie list.
“Buku is a fantastic example of the talent in our Next Generation Academy and the development pathway that exists in the AFL,” said Bulldogs’ General Manager of List and Recruiting Sam Power.
“He has worked exceptionally hard to get to where he is and we’re confident he’ll be a great acquisition to our Club.”
Khamis, who was born in South Sudan, is an Under 18 All Australian.
He played with WRFL club St Albans between 2012 and 2016, winning two league Best and Fairest medals in the process.
The youngster also represented the WRFL at two AFL Victoria Junior Metro Championship carnivals and was a part of the David Rodan Squad four years ago.
