WFNL CHILD SAFETY
In 2017, the Child Safe Standards were brought into effect for organisations such as the WFNL and its clubs. On the 1st of July 2022, the Victorian Government’s introduced 11 ’new’ Child Safe Standards and will be the responsibility of everyone in the Football & Netball community to ensure they are implemented and embedded in the culture of all clubs
This Child Safety Resource Hub is a central location for training, templates and other resources to support Child Safety Officers at each club, as well as for the benefit of any other club officials, parents or players who may want to better understand the Standards.

- Child Safety Officer Position Description – A basic description for the CSO role. It can be adapted if need be.
- Incident Reporting Information Sheet – Your right to enjoy footy – An information sheet designed for those under 18 to make them aware of their rights and the importance of speaking up when uncomfortable or unhappy. Can be adapted and is recommended to be on display in the club, somewhere visible to players.
- Club Protection Training – A link to the Australian Sports Commission’s online training platform. The Child Protection Training module through Play By The Rules is a required module for CSO’s and recommended for anyone else interested in understanding the issue of Child Safety further.
