COMMUNITY UMPIRING ROUND 2018

The Western Region Football League together with the wider football community will recognise the importance of Umpires this weekend, as we celebrate 2018 Community Umpiring Week.

The annual event is aimed to acknowledge the terrific work goal, field and boundary umpires do each and every week.

The round is supported by the AFL and is designed to help teach the footy world about the roles and responsibilities of umpires as well as remind all players, supporters, coaches and parents to take responsibility of their behaviour on match day.

AFL Field Umpires Nathan Williamson and Leigh Haussen, Boundary Umpires Adam Coote and Chris Esler, plus Goal Umpire Michael Craig all attended WRFL Umpire training earlier this week as part of the occasion.

Community Umpire Round is also another opportunity to encourage those who want to be involved in the sport, to take up umpiring.
