CONTESSA BECOMES A WARRIOR

Hoppers Crossing have appointed Steve Kretiuk’s successor, announcing Adam Contessa will coach the Warriors in 2023.

“Adam brings a wealth of experience played and coached at high levels for over 20 years,” the announcement said.

Contessa most recently coached Sunshine between 2018 and 2020. Previously he was involved with Pascoe Vale and Airport West – leading the latter to a premiership in 2012.

Contessa takes over from Kretiuk, who after nine years at the helm, decided to step away from the position.

Kretiuk led the Warriors to two Division 1 Grand Final appearances and two Preliminary Final berths.

Hoppers Crossing finished the 2022 home and away season in fifth spot and were defeated by Werribee Districts in the Elimination Final.
