CROWS PICK SHOLL

Former St Bernard’s junior Lachlan Sholl’s dream of playing in the AFL became a reality this afternoon, when the Adelaide Crows selected the talented young gun with Pick 64 in the NAB AFL Draft.

“Lachie Sholl is a real grinding hard runner,” Adelaide National Recruiting Manager Hamish Ogilvie said this afternoon.

“Been really smart, played a lot on the wing early, performed pretty well again last year, he has just been a ball magnet and his two weapons are his decision making and skills.”

“It was a good result.”

Sholl will now follow in his family’s footsteps by playing at the top level, his father Brett played 35 games for Carlton. His dad’s cousins Craig and Brad also played at the elite level. Craig played 235 games for North Melbourne and Brad played 171 games with both the Cats and the Roos.

The 18-year-old played his junior football with St Bernard’s, more recently he has been playing with the Calder Cannons in the TAC Cup.

Sholl had a successful junior career with St Bernard’s, he was involved with six Grand Finals, winning three premierships.
