EAGLES SCORE FIRST WIN

Yarraville-Seddon got its first win of the season, a late Lewis Parsons goal was the difference against Sunshine in the six-point triumph after a dramatic fourth quarter in TIV Division 1.

Umpires called for a player count in the final term and wiped Yarraville-Seddon’s scores to that point (seven points) after it was adjudicated they’d fielded too many players.

Despite the loss of points, the Eagles held firm and on the back of a huge second and third quarter performance. They were able to hold off an equally impressive Kangaroos outfit.

Hisham Kerbatieh was gallant in defeat with an incredible eight goals while Thomas Mundy was excellent across the board.

Lachlan and Blake Green shone brightest for the Eagles, the brothers combining for five goals with both featuring in the votes in their side’s 13.14. (92) to 12.14. (86) victory.

The Eagles host Point Cook in Round 4, the Kangaroos taking on St Albans.

Hoppers Crossing won a thriller on Anzac Day, holding off Werribee Districts 11.13. (79) to 11.8. (74).

Both sides had chances to grab the win, but it was the Warriors who got the chocolates in a tightly fought local derby, running out five-point winners.

Deer Park awaits the Warriors in what should be a great match-up while Werribee will host Spotswood and look to get back to the winners list.

Elliot Cavallaro’s seven goals highlighted Altona’s comfortable 52-point win against Spotswood.

The Vikings 16.12. (108) to 8.8. (56) victory sets up a barnstorming clash with Caroline Springs this week.

A five goal to one fourth quarter saw Caroline Springs overcome a pesky St Albans 11.16. (82) to 7.7. (49) and maintain its spot, on top of the ladder.

Deer Park cruised to a 13.14. (92) to 4.7. (31) win against Point Cook, a strong second half enough to see the Lions confirm their second win of the season.
