By CONNOR PAIN

Yarraville Seddon stretched its win streak to five games after a ferocious second half performance against Point Cook, running out 23-point winners.

The visitors kicked 10 goals to five after the restart, the win pushing the Eagles up to fourth on the ladder with just two games remaining.

Neither side got a foothold as they wrestled for control, inaccurate kicking hurting Yarraville Seddon with five behinds in the first and seven in the first half.

The home side hit back with four goals in the second term, showing why they’ve been in the top four all season.

Trailing by 10-points at the main break, the Eagles rolled up their sleeves and went to work.

Five goals to two in the premiership quarter put the game in their favour before another five goal quarter in the last sealing the huge win, 12.13(85) to 9.8(62).

The Eagles now have their finals destiny in their own hands. A home clash with Spotswood awaits with the loser all but out of the race for the top four.

The Bulldogs can look to reclaim second spot when they travel to face Point Cook Centrals.

Ryan Allan’s five goals helped Caroline Springs come from behind at three quarter time to knock off Point Cook Centrals 11.11(77) to 11.6(72).

The home side trailed at each break but four goals to two turned a 10-point deficit three quarter time deficit into a five-point win helping them leapfrog Spotswood on the ladder and puts them 1.96 percent behind Yarraville Seddon.

The Lakers battle Hoppers Crossing in Round 17.

Altona overcame a slow start and limited Spotswood to just three goals after quarter time in its 9.17(71) to 6.4(40) triumph.

A goalless first term plagued the Vikings but they hit back immediately to take the lead at the half and not look back.

A dominant second half saw them over the line comfortably in the 31-point win.

They face a tough task this week against Werribee Districts needing a win to maintain second and a double chance in finals.

The loss could prove costly for the Woodsmen who entered in fourth but slip to sixth.

Werribee Districts bounced back from its shock first loss of the season with a comfortable 15.12(102) to 10.7(67) win against Hoppers Crossing.

Joshua Mould booted five in the 45-point victory as the ladder leaders made amends after their undefeated season ended last week.
