ELLIS, FOWLER APPOINTED AT CAROLINE SPRINGS

Caroline Springs premiership coach Dean Ellis has been re-appointed coach of their Senior Women’s Division 1 team.

Ellis led the Lakers to an elusive premiership victory this season, defeating Spotswood in a memorable Grand Final in September.

Ellis will be joined by assistant coaches Luke Baker and premiership player Alex O’Shea.

The Lakers’ Division 2 Senior Women’s team will be led by Alisha Fowler.

Ellis coached both teams in 2022, but in 2023, Fowler will step-up and lead the team.

“Alisha brings a wealth of football knowledge and experience to her coaching debut,” the announcement said.

“After joining the Lakers in 2017 with our inaugural senior women’s side, Alisha has been an integral part of our women’s program from day one, with her lockdown defence skills and leadership a key aspect of our 2022 senior women premiership.”

Caroline Springs’ Division 2 team were runners-up this year, losing to Point Cook Centrals in the final game of the season.

“We’re super excited to see where Alisha takes this promising group of girls in the next season after falling just short of the ultimate glory in 2022,” the post said.
