FRONTCZAK, INCIGNERI LEAD THE WAY

Round 3 of the Victoria University Polytechnic Senior Women’s competition, saw two of the final’s contenders make big statements.

Manor Lakes and Spotswood both had monster wins, thrashing their respective opponents by more than 200-points.

Manor Lakes’ win against Braybrook was astoundingly one-sided, as they kept the away side scoreless the whole game and kicked 36 goals.

The Storm had twelve individual goalkickers, with Yana Frontczak leading from the front, kicking 11. Kellee McIntosh was next best with five goals to her name.

In similar fashion, Spotswood had a 253-point win over Wyndhamvale. Spotswood kicked 37 goals, keeping Wyndhamvale scoreless.

Gilda Incigneri and Caitlin Brennan lead Spotswood’s list of 11 goalkickers, as they kicked 10 and eight goals respectively.

Caroline Springs also had a convincing win over Tarneit, winning by 76-points. The Lakers had 27 scoring shots for the afternoon, limiting their opponent to just the one opportunity to get on the board.

Carissa Whiley kicked three of Caroline Springs 10 goals, while Alexandra Fato and Caitlin Pretty kicked two goals each.

Point Cook had a four-goal win over Laverton on Friday night, after keeping the Magpies goalless until the third term.

Laverton looked dangerous in the third quarter, with four scoring shots to the Bulldogs’ one. However, Point Cook never looked like throwing the game away and came out strong in the final term.

Sondra Rametta put on a thrilling performance, kicking three of the Bulldogs’ six goals.

Yarraville Seddon were beaten by West Footscray by 26-points, still struggling to find that first win of the season.

The Roosters started strong kicking two goals in the opening quarter, and kept the ball in their possession for most of the match, not conceding a goal until the last quarter.

Kendra Trewavis was dominant in the forward line, kicking three goals for the Roosters, while Emily Duffy and Zoe Ingham kicked one each.

Point Cook Centrals have come back fighting after last week’s substantial loss to Manor Lakes, with a convincing win against North Sunshine this week.

The Sharks beat North Sunshine by 32-points.
