GERMAN ANNOUNCED AS SPOTSWOOD COACH

Spotswood have announced Tom German as their new Senior Men’s playing coach for the 2023 TIV Division 1 season.

German has coached Bacchus Marsh for the past three years in the Ballarat Football League.

He will take over from Anthony Eames, who stepped down from the position after six years with the Woodsman.

German was Rookie listed by Essendon in 2008 and has also played at VFL level before having stints at Oak Park and Mansfield.

“At local level he has been a dominant player and a perennial top 3 in Best and Fairest (awards) over a 7-year period,” the announcement said.

Spotswood finished the 2022 season in sixth spot, having won nine games and lost nine games. It was the first time since 2000 that the Senior team had not played finals.
