GOVERNMENT GRANTS OPEN
Applications for the Community Sport Sector Short-term Survival Package will close on June 15.
Sporting clubs and associations are able to apply for support under a $40 million grant program as part of the Victorian Government’s commitment to help associations, leagues and clubs impacted by COVID-19 in maintaining their viability and connection to their communities, whilst significantly easing the return to training and playing.
A further $68 million from the Government’s $2.7 billion Building Works stimulus package will also be allocated to fast-track community sports infrastructure projects across Victoria – creating jobs, helping local businesses and supporting grassroots players, clubs and volunteers.
Eligible organisations will be able to apply for funding in four categories, with grants available for amounts:
• grants of up to $350,000 available for large state sporting associations;
• grants of up to $200,000 available to smaller state sporting associations; regional sports assemblies and academies and other state sport and recreational bodies;
• grants of up to $15,000 available for associations and leagues; and
• grants of $1,000 available for individual clubs.
Applications for grants under the Victorian Community Sport Sector Short-term Survival Package will be accepted from 25 May until 15 June 2020, or until the funding allocation is exhausted.
