LAKERS BOUNCE BACK WITH BIG WIN, SUNS CONTINUE CLIMB

Round 7 of the St Vincent’s Private Hospital Werribee Senior Women’s Competition saw three matches play out, with the Suns building on their recent run of form to bag their third win in a row.

Caroline Springs hosted Laverton on Saturday morning, running over their visitors by 150 points.

Amongst the Lakers’ 13 individual goal scorers, Caitlin Pretty (4 goals) and Nyomi Stowers (three goals) starred to be amongst their side’s best.

Rosalie Needham and Mirae Holland stood strong under plenty of pressure for the Magpies.

The Suns senior women continued to assert their dominance over the competition with a comprehensive 110 points victory at Wyndhamvale moving them up to second spot on the ladder.

Mandy Seath (six goals) and Madeline Johnson (five goals) both kicked bags for the Suns, with Johnson earning best on ground honours for the game.

Rachael Burton and Kellee McIntosh led the charge for the Falcons, with the latter kicking two majors, however they were unable to slow another dominant Suns performance.

To complete the fixture for the weekend, North Sunshine welcomed Yarraville Seddon to Dempster Park.

In a game that truly embodied the spirit of local women’s footy, the two sides battled hard four quarters with the Eagles coming out on top with a 95-point triumph.

Ash Guest kicked four majors for the winning side and was named amongst the Eagles’ best, while teammate Grace Middleton also hit the scoreboard with a pair of goals.

Ashley Krajinovic and Dannielle Menzies never gave up for the Roadrunners, with the latter bagging a major for her side.
