Registration of Hoppers Crossing Player
The Western Football Netball League (WFNL) acknowledges community interest regarding the registration of a player with the Hoppers Crossing Football Club.
The League acknowledges the broader context and sensitivities surrounding this matter and remains firmly committed to upholding the values and expectations of our competition and community. Player registrations are governed by the AFL National Player Registration and Transfer Regulations, which the League is required to follow.
Hoppers Crossing Football Club has advised they have undertaken extensive due diligence in considering this decision and has committed to implementing a comprehensive welfare and support framework to ensure appropriate standards of behaviour and accountability.
We will continue to work closely with the Hoppers Crossing Football Club, as we do with all Clubs, to ensure these standards are maintained and the wellbeing of all participants remains a priority. The League has also engaged with the AFL Players’ Association (AFLPA) to ensure the player is appropriately supported through a range of development programs.
The WFNL will not be making further comment beyond this statement. Enquiries regarding the Clubā€™s decision should be directed to Hoppers Crossing Football Club.
