MAGPIES SWOOP TO 3 WINS IN A ROW

Round 12 of the Rookie Me Division 3 Seniors competition, saw an exciting clash between the Laverton Magpies and Tarneit. The Magpies would soar to victory with a final score of 8.7 (55) to Tarneit’s 5.7 (37).

 

Laverton Magpies started the game well, going into halftime with a three-goal lead. The Magpies would maintain that lead over the Titans winning the game by eighteen points. Magpies’ Richard Mulroy would be the difference kicking three goals whilst teammate Ayang Nyanjok would kick two. Ubil Chol would be named best on the ground for his side. On the other side, the Titans who fought gallantly were led by Zach Thornton who was best on the ground whilst teammate Joshua Stone would kick two goals.

 

Laverton’s win takes them to one win outside of the top 4, with a big challenge upcoming against the Suns. Tarneit will look to bounce back when they host Sunshine Heights next week.

 

Reece Field would kick nine goals, as his Albanvale side would secure a 149-point win against North Sunshine. Matthew Kozole would kick four for the Cobras as well, whilst Michael Teuira would kick 2 goals for the Roadrunners. Albanvale will look to continue its winning ways when they host West Footscray, whilst the Roadrunners have a bye.

 

Ladder leaders Suns would continue their winning ways with a 74-point win over West Footscray. Leading goal kicker Daniel Hovey would kick six goals, whilst last year’s goal-kicking centurion Dean Cachia would kick five goals. Chris Long would kick two for the Roosters.
