WFNL Match of the Day will return to Soldiers Reserve for a blockbuster top-of-the-table clash between Werribee Districts and Yarraville Seddon.
In what is sure to be a grudge match, the Tigers and the Eagles will be out for nothing less than a win, with a victory all that is required to secure the top spot and the minor premiership.
The two sides have already met on the Match of the Day stage in what was one of the most thrilling games of the TIV Division One season.
After the Tigers held a 29-point lead at the final change, Yarraville Seddon put on nine goals in the last quarter to soar to a 16-point victory.
Werribee Districts will be out for revenge, while Yarraville Seddon will look to douse the ladder-leaders.
Last weekend, Werribee Districts were comfortable 76-point winners over Spotswood.
It was a win that saw the side secure its sixth-straight win, highlighted by Daniel Nielson’s seven-goal-haul that brought up his half-century.
Alongside a flurry of standouts, Nielson shapes up as one to watch in this weekend’s battle.
Strong in the midfield, it’s been a great season for Harrison White who recorded 151 ranking points last weekend for his 35 disposals and two goal performance.
He’ll look to continue his form in Saturday’s contest alongside key defender Daniel Schibeci who boasts 8 rebound fifties per game, something that’ll rattle the nerves of Yarraville Seddon.
It appears that Werribee Districts has all bases covered, but Yarraville Seddon will look to enter this contest in full flight.
The Eagles were put to the test last weekend in blindsiding defeat to Newport.
It’s a result that they’ll look to put behind them, with a win on Saturday the only thing required to see the red, yellow, and blue finish the season on top.
In the last line of defence, Darcy Grieves will look to prevent another onslaught while some of his teammates attack at goal.
Michael Selsby kicked four when he last met the Tigers, Brodie Catania found three, while Isaac Kaddour’s fine form continued with a four-goal display last weekend.
There are stars aplenty from both sides that’ll take to the field on Saturday and it’s sure to be a captivating contest.
The winner will advance to Semi Final 2 where a spot in the Grand Final will be up for grabs.
The loser will lock up second spot and progress onto the Qualifying Final.
