WFNL MATCH OF THE DAY TO BE LIVE STREAMED IN 2025
The Western Football Netball League (WFNL) and Sportscast Australia are pleased to announce an exciting new collaboration that will see the WFNL Match of the Day live streamed in 2025.
One Senior match of football will be live streamed by Sportscast Australia every Saturday with the weekly production to include score graphics and live commentary.
Since 2021, Sportscast Australia has been responsible for filming and uploading all WFNL Division One Home and Away matches as well as Senior football Finals for all grades.
They also produce match highlights along with weekly Plays of the Week packages and film and compile video content from the League’s annual Media Day.
The WFNL and Sportscast Australia are also thrilled to announce that starting this year, all Senior Men’s (Div 1 & Div 2) and Senior Women’s football matches will be filmed.
Commentary on the weekly live stream will be provided by the League’s call team who in the past have been heard on the WFNL Match of the Day radio broadcast on 88.9 Wyn FM.
WFNL Media Manager, Justin Jenvey said it was exciting to be growing the league’s media offerings.
“Sportscast Australia has played a huge role in helping promote football in Melbourne’s West in recent years and we’re looking forward to generating even more exposure and engagement for the WFNL through the Match of the Day live stream and the filming of all senior competitions,” he said.
“The Match of the Day live stream will provide significant benefits to the league and allow supporters who can’t attend games to still be able to cheer for their team and players.”
Access to the Match of the Day live stream will be via the domain live.sportscastaustralia.com.au, with streams during the home and away season available to be purchased for $8.
Sportscast Australia Founder and CEO, Andrew McLeish said it was great to be expanding its ongoing partnership with the WFNL.
“Sportscast Australia is proud to be partnering with the WFNL as we embark on an exciting new initiative to bring live footy to their audiences,” he said.
“The League is expanding its coverage across both Men’s divisions and adding in League wide coverage of the Women’s competition which is to be applauded.
“The WFNL digital footprint is going to explode in 2025, and we can’t wait to see the results.”
Along with the Sportscast Australia live stream fans will also still be able to tune in to 88.9 Wyn FM to hear the Match of the Day broadcast every Saturday from 1:30pm to 5:30pm.
