WFNL PLANS MEN’S NETBALL DIVISION IN ’26
The Western Football Netball League (WFNL) is excited to announce plans to introduce a Men’s Premier Netball Division in 2026.
The Men’s Division will sit alongside the WFNL’s existing Senior Netball competitions, providing a new platform for male athletes to compete at the highest level within the League structure.
The competition will be open to males aged 15 years and older and will be played at State Netball Centre in Parkville on Friday nights.
An initial proposal for the commencement of the competition is following the completion of the Australian Men’s & Mixed Netball Championships next April, with the season consisting of approximately 14 rounds followed by Finals.
In establishing a Men’s Division, the League aims not only to provide opportunities at the senior level but also to inspire the next generation of boys and young men to play netball.
With interest from several WFNL Member Clubs already emerging, the League will work closely with its stakeholders over the coming months to:
- Confirm competition format and entry criteria;
- Support WFNL Member Clubs in developing men’s squads; and
- Align with Netball Victoria’s broader pathways for male participation.
The following clubs have communicated their interest in entering a team/s in a Men’s Division:
- Albanvale
- Braybrook
- Caroline Springs
- Glen Orden
- Hobsons Bay
- Point Cook Centrals
- Sunshine
We invite all Member Clubs, Players, Coaches, and Volunteers who’d like to be part of this exciting new chapter to contact WFNL Netball Operations Coordinator Jordan Dalliston via email jordan.dalliston@wfnl.com.au or to connect with your local WFNL Member Club directly for updates and expressions of interest.
