NEW FACES AT CAROLINE SPRINGS
Caroline Springs Senior Women’s coach Dean Ellis says we should expect to see a new look team this year, with up to 12 new players expected to line-up for the Lakers in 2021.
Caroline Springs has been a mainstay in Senior Women’s finals, having played in the past two Victoria University Polytechnic Grand Finals.
This season will be Ellis’ first in charge. He has long been associated with the club, but this will be his first tilt as coach of the senior side.
“I have no expectations (about this season), I just want everyone to continue to improve and enjoy their footy and enjoy being a member of Caroline Springs,” he said.
“We have approached pre-season with the intent the season would be going ahead. Plenty of skill-based training to get the touch back after a long layoff.
“Pre-season has been fantastic so far with great numbers and the work ethic has been second to none.”
Ellis said he missed the interaction with others after a year off due to COIVD-19.
“You don’t realise how much you enjoy something and how much you take it for granted until it is taken away,” he said.
Caroline Springs’ much anticipated return to footy will kick-off against Yarraville Seddon Eagles at Yarraville Oval in Round 1.
