NEWPORT SCORE CONSECUTIVE WINS

Newport have scored successive victories in the Under 18 Division 2 competition, after defeating Point Cook at Saltwater Reserve.
The scores were tied at three-quarter-time, but it was the visitors that came out firing in the final term, restricting the opposition to a solitary behind, while they booted two goals to win 6.11. (47) to 5.4. (34).
Daniel Liernat was best on ground for Newport, while William Rennie was Point Cook’s best player.
St Albans bounced back to clinch their fourth win of the season with a big win against Hoppers Crossing.
In the first quarter, St Albans had the share of the play with 11 scoring shots to one taking a 35-point lead to the first change.
The second quarter, St Albans continued their dominance adding five goals to their growing lead with Hoppers Crossing managing to kick one.
In the third term, St Albans piled on the goals to lead by 134-points heading into the final change.
The final quarter proved to be the same with St Albans having six scoring shots to zero. Jackson Emery kicked five goals and Byron Murphy was best on ground for the Saints.
In the final game of Round 7, Flemington Juniors hosted Werribee Districts at JJ Holland Park. Flemington were too strong, defeating Werribee Districts by 44-points. Elias Manne kicked four goals.
In Round 8, Tarneit will host St Albans at Wootten Road Reserve, Hoppers Crossing play Point Cook at Hogans Road Reserve and Flemington Juniors will go head-to-head with Newport, who will be chasing their third-straight win.
Werribee Districts have a bye.
