POINT COOK SPOIL SPOTSWOOD
POINT Cook Red caused an upset on Friday night, defeating finals contender Spotswood in Round 11 of the Victoria University WRFL Netball Competition.
Point Cook Red won by six goals, which was the biggest margin of the game.
Two goals separated the two sides at half-time, it was four goals at three quarter time, when the final whistle blew, the scoreboard read 48 to 42 in favour of Point Cook Red.
Stacey Grant was the standout for Point Cook, she shot 36 of her teams 48 goals.
Point Cook Red are out of finals contention, but the team should be proud of their performance. Meanwhile it was a disappointing result for Spotswood, who are currently in fourth spot with one round remaining in the home and away season.
North Footscray Devils have continued its winning ways, defeating Braybrook Black by 21 goals.
The Devils defenders Carly Santiago and Hannah Macklaw were particularly impressive, restricting the attack of Braybrook.
The third quarter was the difference, with the Devils scoring 14 goals to two.

The final score was 39 to 18.
Glen Orden won its first match of the season, defeating Albion Cattaz 40 to 16.
Glen Orden’s first and third quarters were impressive, they scored 10 and 12 goals respectively.
Emily Rose Gelletly and Raegan Desira played well in attack for the Hawks, while Sophie Keogh played well in defence.
Albion Cattaz have a bye in the final round of the home and away season, they finished the season in 11th position.
Braybrook Red also head into the final round of the season having scored a confidence boosting win.
Braybrook Red defeated Albion 43 to 36.
Alexis Climas scored 23 goals in the victory.
Finally, North Footscray Red Devils scored its sixth win of the season, defeating Sunshine 39 to 23.
