POINT COOK’S NEVER GIVE UP ATTITUDE
Point Cook Senior Women’s Coach Kerry Saunders says her team is up for the challenge, after the Bulldogs were split into the Victoria University Polytechnic Division 1 competition.
She says the team has a great positive attitude and that their focus for the remaining six games was to compete.
“(Division 1) is a starting point. The message to the girls is that you take on one contest at a time and you compete against your opponent,” Saunders said.
“We can only control what we can control. When it’s our turn to go for the footy, we will go and do our best.
“Training has been great, we are all still having a laugh, numbers haven’t dropped away. The girls have a positive attitude.”
The Bulldogs’ first game in Division 1 is against Werribee Centrals tonight at Saltwater Reserve.
“Tonight, is a bit of a guessing game. I haven’t seen them play or heard a lot about them. We will have a good team in. We are missing some youngsters, but we are staying positive, and we will compete the best we can,” Saunders said.
“We love the Friday timeslot; it is a big draw card for the club.
“Juniors and Auskick are finished by the time we play, we don’t have to compete with any other games, we play and get to enjoy the rest of the weekend.”
Point Cook take on Werribee Centrals at Saltwater Reserve at 7pm tonight.
