ROADRUNNERS APPOINT COACHES

North Sunshine have appointed their two senior coaches for the 2021 season, with Ange Messina announced as the Senior Men’s Coach and Tom Ellard taking the reins as Senior Women’s Coach.

Messina was appointed the Senior Men’s Coach last year, but due to the cancellation of the season has yet to coach the group on game day.

“Ange kept the men’s teams training and motivated leading up to and during the Covid-19 pandemic,” the announcement stated.

“He has set strong foundations regarding our game plan and structures which we look forward to seeing under match conditions in 2021. His attitude, commitment and positivity is infectious and has already resulted in a level of excitement around the club that hasn’t been seen in a number of years.”

Ellard, a first time Senior Women’s coach, comes to the club after stints playing in the VFL and NEAFL competitions.

“The vision that I have for my coaching roll is to teach the women all about AFL and the different areas in AFL” he told the North Sunshine website.

“I’m wanting to create a family environment where the girls enjoy every second playing football, I can’t wait to crack in and get started.”
