ROOSTERS BOUNCE BACK ENDING TWO GAME SKID

West Footscray is back on the winners list and back into the top four after an 82-point victory over the Western Rams.

The Roosters were plagued by inaccuracy in front of goal, but it mattered little as the visitors first led by 16 points at quarter time and then extended their advantage every term after.

Jai Haines, EJ Sharp and Matthew Turcinovich (four goals) were all instrumental in the 15.24 (114) to 5.3 (33) win to end a two-game skid, while the Rams were best served by Aaron Way and Ryan Tyson.

Sunshine Heights recorded its second straight win after surviving a late comeback from the Suns at Ainsworth Reserve.

The Dragons enjoyed a brilliant start on their home turf with an eight goal to one first half giving them a 42-point buffer at the main break.

The Suns hit back in the third, but the visitors shot themselves in the foot kicking 4.7 for the term to still trail by 20 points ahead of the last.

Elliot Rosado and Wilson Hylton (four goals) ensured the margin was never closer than 14 points in the fourth quarter with the hosts going on to triumph 13.9 (87) to 10.13 (73).

Daniel O’Leary was best-on for the Suns with Blake Jago and John Tomelty each kicking three goals.

Albanvale made it three wins on the trot thanks to a 17.16 (118) to 7.5 (47) defeat of Laverton away from home.

The sides were separated by just four and 10 points at the first two breaks with the Cobras up on both occasions.

However, it was all one-way traffic in the third and fourth quarters with Albanvale pilling on 12 goals to two in the second half to come away 71-point winners.

Corey Field and Zachary Papamihail (three goals) were brilliant for the visitors, while Rohan Crawley and former Cobra Jordan Lynch were Laverton’s best.

Jarrod Johns booted a season-high six goals as North Footscray had no issues against Tarneit.

The Devils were always in control and finished the game with a nine-major final quarter and seven multiple goal kickers in the 28.22 (190) to 1.4 (10) win.

Jacob Millar was Tarneit’s top performer in his debut for the club, while Ethan Caithness was also amongst the best for the Titans.

Wyndhamvale extended its unbeaten start to the season with a comprehensive win over Braybrook to the tune of 97 points.

Damon Stephens and Tarkyn Bugeja led the way for Falcons, who despite struggling to make the most of their opportunities all day were never challenged at Wyndhamvale South Reserve as the Brookers failed to kick a goal in the opening half.

Nathan Spackman finished as Braybrook’s best in the 15.27 (117) to 3.2 (20) result.
