SAINTS UPSET BULLDOGS

Fresh from the bye, St Albans clinched their fifth win of the season upsetting the second-placed Point Cook in the Under 18 Division 2 competition.

The first term was controlled by the Saints, they had seven scoring shots to two and went into the first break, 25-points ahead.

The Bulldogs surged back into the contest in the second term. They kicked three unanswered goals to one behind from the Saints to close the margin to just seven points at the main interval.

The third quarter much like the first was dominated by the Saints. With the wind picking up the Saints used it to their advantage having eight scoring shots to two, to set up a 28-point lead to the final change.

The final term was hard fought from both sides. In the end the Saints led all day managing to grab the win. Jordan Fraser was best on ground for the Saints.

Around the grounds, Newport hosted Hoppers Crossing at Langshaw Reserve. Newport fought back from an early deficit to make it two-in-a-row with a 77-point victory. Hassan Jassem scored best on ground honours for Newport.

In the final match of Round 12, Flemington Juniors hosted Tarneit at JJ Holland Park Reserve. The Colts secured win number eight by defeating the Titans by 51-points. Sebastian Isolani kicked three goals.

In Round 13, Tarneit plays St Albans at Wootten Road Reserve, Werribee Districts hosts Hoppers Crossing at Keogh Homes Oval and a top-of-the-table clash between Flemington Juniors and Point Cook at JJ Holland Park Reserve. Newport have a bye.
