SENIOR WOMEN’S TRAINING SQUAD NAMED
The Western Football Netball League is pleased to announce the training squad for its first ever Senior Women’s Football Interleague team.
Thirty-eight players have been picked in the initial squad which has hit the training track in recent weeks in preparation to play the Southern Football Netball League on May 17.
Not surprisingly the squad includes last year’s St Vincent’s Private Hospital Werribee Senior Women’s best-and-fairest joint winners Akima Manoah and Jessica Spall as well as 2024 leading goal kicker Larissa Renaut.
The squad will eventually be trimmed to 25 players with 23 players to take the field for the contest against the Southern FNL.
The WFNL will face Southern in Senior Women’s, Senior Men’s and Under 19 football matches to be played at Avalon Airport Oval in Werribee, while the two leagues will also meet in Netball clash at the nearby Eagle Stadium.
