SHARKS HOLD-OFF FAST FINISHING MAGPIES

Braybrook have beaten Tarneit in a come-from-behind victory to score their third win in as many weeks in the Victoria University Polytechnic Senior Women’s competition.
Tarneit started strong, scoring two goals to zero in the first quarter.
But Braybrook opened up the game in the third quarter, taking just a two-point deficit into the final term before scoring two goals and keeping their opposition scoreless, to win by an impressive 12-points.
Caroline Springs defeated Yarraville Seddon by 10 goals, maintaining their unbeaten record for the year. The Eagles didn’t score a goal until the third quarter, and were unable to make a dint in the lead.
With seven individual goal-kickers for the Lakers, it was Alexandra Fato and Caitlin Pretty who again stood tall in the forward line, kicking four and two goals respectively.
Spotswood have locked in another convincing win, this week against Point Cook, conceding just two points.
Caitlin Brennan, in her 100th game, kicked four goals, and Kayla Koropeckyj kicked three goals.
Manor Lakes also took home the four points in a resounding win over Werribee Centrals, kicking five goals to none in the opening quarter and showing no signs of taking their foot off of the throttle.
Conceding just two goals for the match, the Storm had 20 scoring opportunities and while accuracy was less than perfect, their ability to win the ball out of the middle was enough to give them an impressive win.
West Footscray have made a statement to the competition, scoring a big win against Wyndhamvale. The Roosters managed to keep their opponents scoreless all afternoon, while racking up a score of 139.
Point Cook Centrals have held on for an impressive win against Laverton. After a strong first half from both teams, the Sharks took a 27-point lead into the final term and looked like running over the top of the Magpies.
But it was Laverton who won the final quarter, not conceding a single point, however it was too little too late, with Point Cook Centrals coming away with a 14-point win.
