SMITH READY FOR THE CLIMB

Albanvale have appointed Nick Smith as their new Senior Coach, after Andrew Bryson stepped down from the role after four years at the helm.

Smith, who has had over 20 years of coaching experience across various levels of football, was most recently the coach of Werribee Centrals before taking a break from the game.

“With a mini break in 2022 from coaching, I feel refreshed and ready to take this playing group to the highest level,” he said.

“I heard great things about the club and seeing the recent success they had in 2022 across their football and netball teams with four premierships, I am hoping I can facilitate even further success – especially for the senior playing group.”

Smith said it was a family club and that the committee, led by president Adam Borg, had big plans for next season and beyond.

“I know we have a real climb ahead of us if we want to get to the heights we all desire – so I’m excited to start laying the foundations and doing the work we need to do to start taking those first steps towards the summit,” he said.

The Cobras finished the Alan Mance Motors Division 3 season in third spot having lost to Braybrook in the Preliminary Final.
