SPURS & EAGLES MAKE LIGHT WORK OF OPPOSITION

By Kel Rowe |

Only two matches played out in Round 11 of the St Vincent’s Private Hospital Werribee Senior Women’s competition, ahead of this week’s School Holiday Bye.

Parkside Spurs hosted Wyndhamvale at Merv Hughes Oval, with the Spurs executing a 99-point win on home turf.

The Spurs midfield continued their dominance with Natalie Pearce, Giselle Lambley and Rita Ceravolo all amongst the best.

Pearce and Ceravolo were also dangerous in attack, each kicking four majors apiece.

Falcons pair Emily Kalos and Angel Noone performed under pressure, being named in the best, whilst teammate Mary-Louise Melmoth was the lone goal scorer for the visiting side.

The Yarraville Seddon senior women travelled west to Windorah Way Reserve to take on Point Cook Centrals — the final siren confirming an 89-point victory for the visiting side.

Armani Mauriohooho and Chaya Tiktin were the top performers for the Eagles, with forward Phoebe McWilliams bagging four goals for the match.

Hayley Bennett, Claire Rollinson and Hayley Fletcher (one goal) worked hard for the Sharks, with the latter also hitting the scoreboard for her side.

Footy will return for the Senior Women of the Western Football Netball League after the School Holiday Bye, with Round 12 kicking off on July 19.
