THE WRFL WELCOME THE WESTERN RAMS

The application for Affiliation from the Western Rams Football Club to join the Western Region Football League (WRFL), as endorsed by the WRFL Board, was accepted at the League AGM held Tuesday 5^th December 2023.

The 2023 WRFL AGM and resolution via the Club Vote was held in accordance with the WRFL Statement of Rules (adopted June 2012) and the motion was accepted by the majority of WRFL Clubs.

WRFL CEO David Jennings welcomed the Western Rams and thanked the Riddell District Football Netball League (RDFNL) and AFL Victoria for their collaboration and support in the application.

“We have worked closely with the RDFNL and diligently with the Western Rams over the past two months on their application to join the WRFL and we are now delighted to welcome the Club to League”.

“The Western Rams are a family Club with a proud one-hundred-year history, and we are pleased with an outcome that will ensure the Club has a long-term football and netball future with the WRFL”.

“It took a collaborative effort to arrive at this point and I would like to thank the RDFNL, in particular CEO Jordan Doyle, and AFL Victoria for their incredible support throughout the process of the Western Rams application”.

RDFNL CEO Jordan Doyle was pleased to see the Club find a new home and continue their rich history.

‘’After two months of discussions with the Western Rams FNC Committee and the WRFL, the RDFNL are pleased that the Western Rams FNC have a future in the WRFL for 2024 and the Club leaves the RDFNL with our very best wishes for their short and long-term future”.

The Western Rams will join the WRFL for the 2024 season and will compete in the Division 2 competition.
