TITANS FINISH STRONGLY

By LEO MULLALY

Tarneit has finished the year strongly, recording a comeback two-point victory over Sunshine Heights at Wootten Road Reserve in the Alan Mance Motors Division 3 competition.

The Dragons were on fire early, booting six goals to Tarneit’s two in the opening term.

From there, it was Tarneit who willed themselves back into the contest.

They managed to restrict any scoring from the Dragons in the second quarter, before opening up the game in the second half.

Tarneit slammed home six second-half goals to one to see home a thrilling comeback win in their final game of the season.

Alex Roze slotted three for the home side, while Joshua Stone’s two-goal performance was incredibly influential in his side’s win.

Jai Carlton and Luke Timms were also superb for Tarneit.

For the Dragons, William Tsam and Patrick Mcdonald were outstanding, while Kyall Parker nailed two majors.

Despite the loss, Sunshine Heights head into finals to face Braybrook in a do-or-die clash.

Elsewhere, the Suns ended the home-and-away season with an impressive 15-point victory over the Brookers.

The Suns controlled the contest for the most part, leading at every interval.

However, some wayward third quarter kicking for the Suns that saw them register two goals and 10 points opened the door for the Brookers in the last term.

Braybrook managed to finish strongly, reducing a 26-point margin to 15.

Dean Cachia capped off a brilliant home-and-away fixture with five goals, placing him on 97 for the season.

His Braybrook counterpart Shaun Buttigieg-Clarke kicked two goals, which see him end on 93 goals before the start of finals.

Kayne Wilson, Christopher Lear and Luke Cachia were brilliant for the Suns, while Nicholas Papakalodoukas and Kyle Desira were valiant in defeat for the Brookers.

The Suns finish the season on top of the ladder, with a huge match-up against Albanvale in the first week of finals.
