TIV & WFNL: A WINNING PARTNERSHIP ON & OFF THE FIELD
At Trade Institute of Victoria (TIV), we’re not just about training tradies we’re about building futures and backing the local footy community. That’s why we’re proud to continue our strong partnership with the Western Football Netball League (WFNL) through the 2025 season.
What Is the WFNL to TIV?
The WFNL is home to 34 clubs, bringing together thousands of players across Melbourne’s western suburbs. Whether you’re playing in juniors, seniors, or netball, the WFNL is a tight-knit, community-driven competition with a rich 90-year history. To TIV, it’s more than just a league, it’s a pathway for young athletes to develop their skills, build strong connections, and transition into rewarding careers in trades. Over the years, the league has provided a strong foundation for young athletes, fostering both sporting excellence and lifelong friendships.
Why TIV Supports Local Footy
For well over a decade, TIV has been a proud sponsor of WFNL, helping young athletes take their next steps, on the field and in their careers. From sponsoring the U18s Boys competition to now being the naming rights partner of the Division 1 Senior Men’s competition, our support has grown alongside the league.
Building Careers Beyond Footy
We know footy players are hardworking, disciplined, and team-focused qualities that make for great tradies. That’s why we offer government-funded building & construction courses (for eligible students) to help young players set up a solid career alongside their footy journey.
Our courses provide hands-on training, expert guidance, and real-world experience to set up young athletes for success. Whether you’re looking to become a builder, carpenter, or site manager, TIV gives you the skills you need to build a future beyond the game.
TIV also backs local clubs like Laverton and Newport, ensuring more young athletes get the support they need to succeed both on and off the field. Our involvement goes beyond financial sponsorship; we actively participate in the community, showing up at games, finals, and award ceremonies to celebrate the dedication and hard work of players and teams.
Looking Ahead
The TIV & WFNL partnership continues to grow, proving that business and community sport can work together to build a stronger future. Whether you’re chasing a flag or a trade qualification, TIV has your back.
