TOP FIVE READY FOR FINALS PRESSURE

It was a weekend of blowouts in the final Victoria University Polytechnic Senior Women’s round for the year, with the closest margin for the week between Manor Lakes and Point Cook Centrals at 60 points. Most of the teams who head into finals next week, do so coming off impressive wins.

Finishing on top of the ladder, Manor Lakes’ 10-goal win against the Sharks was impressive, with Yana Frontczak leading the way with five majors.

Coming off their first consecutive wins for the year, Tarneit weren’t able to contend with Werribee Centrals, who won by by 126-points.

Samantha Kloet broke her two-match goal drought, kicking a bag of five goals, as did Larissa Renaut. Tarneit just couldn’t get the ball into their forward half, allowing their opposition 36 shots on goal, while remaining scoreless for the match.

Yarraville Seddon finished off their season with impressive form, defeating North Sunshine by 124-points. Jessica Martin followed up last week’s eight-goal performance, with another great display in-front of goals, kicking four goals.

Caroline Springs head into finals off the back of a strong game against Braybrook, also keeping their opposition from scoring, while they kicked 16 goals. Caitlin Pretty was back on top leading the goals scored for her side, kicking a bag of five.

Braybrook unfortunately finish their season with a four-game losing streak.

The Bulldogs conceded 20 goals to Spotswood, who finish the home and away season in second spot.

Caitlin Brennan kicked six goals, to finish the season as the competition’s leading goal-kicker, with a total of 76.
