TOTAL TEAM POINTS FOR 2020 ANNOUNCED
The WRFL’s Player Points System (PPS) Committee has determined a number of individual Total Team Points (TTP) adjustments ahead of the 2020 season.
The ‘default’ or ‘starting’ TTP allocations for the 2020 season were communicated to clubs in August as follows:
- Division 1 – 44 Points
- Division 2 – 45 Points
- Division 3 – 45 Points
However, it was highlighted at this time that further consideration would be provided post-season to the competitive balance mechanisms outlined in Rule 8.2 of the AFL Victoria Player Points System Policy, including variances based on unique cases of (i) sustained success, (ii) club promotion and/or (iii) distinct disadvantage/significant hardship.
Adoption of the approach comes on the back of extensive club analysis this season that included consultation with every senior club and confirmed significant majority club support for the model.
In making its determinations, the PPS Committee benchmarked extensively and considered a supporting framework and dataset, provided in-part as part of the announcement below.
A process for review of the respective allocations in line with the Policy has been provided to all clubs, whether allocated the default points cap or subject to adjustment.
