UMPIRE NETBALL
Umpiring provides you with so much more than just the ability to officiate the rules of the game. Umpiring is a great way to be an integral part of our netball community.
Umpires help ensure everyone can play the game in a safe, fair and enjoyable environment. As an umpire you get to experience the thrill of the game while maintaining fitness and developing skills such as communication, resilience and leadership just to name a few.
The Western Football Netball League (WFNL) is committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all umpires. Our structured program provides a clear pathway for development, from the foundational levels to achieving a B Badge.
With a dedicated umpire coordinator and knowledgeable mentors, we ensure every umpire receives the guidance, education, and resources needed to grow and succeed. We pride ourselves on creating a culture that nurtures skill development, leadership, and a strong sense of community within the umpiring space.

UNIFORMS
The WFNL has a variety of umpire apparel available for purchase through our online store. While it’s not mandatory to purchase a WFNL uniform immediately, if you intend to umpire more than three games you will be required to purchase a uniform.
Umpires must wear white or navy in colour and may include:
• Polo, tee-shirt or long-sleeve shirt (white/cream)
• Skirt or dress (white/cream or navy)
• Shorts (white/cream or navy)
• Skins, leggings or tracksuit pants (3/4 length or full length only)
• Jumper or vest (white/cream)
Each umpire is responsible for bringing their own equipment to the game. At a minimum, they will need a whistle, a rule book, and a hairband to keep track of the centre pass.
