VU WRFL NETBALL PREMIERS

Spotswood scored a thrilling come-from-behind victory in the Victoria University WRFL Netball Division 1 Grand Final on Friday night.

Led brilliantly by Hayley Cran and Ella Logan, Spotswood fought for every ball, eventually turning a seven goal deficit into a one goal win in-front of raucous crowd at VU Whitten Oval.

The final score was 49-48, with Cran winning the Best on Court Medal for her efforts across four quarters.

In the Division 2 and Division 4 competition, Manor Lakes won both Grand Finals, defeating Caroline Springs 33-30 and Laverton 30-24 respectively.

Ash Vaughn and Rachael Guthrie both won Best on Court Medals for the Storm.

In was also a big night for Albanvale, with both their Division 3 and 5 teams winning premierships.

Albanvale defeated Caroline Springs 45-30 in the Division 3 decider. Bron Pokorzynski was awarded the Best on Court medal after impressing the umpires.

The Cobras also scored a win in the Division 5 game with a goal after the final whistle, defeating Glen Orden 29-28.

Shooter Jayden Saltmarsh was Best on Court.
