VU WRFL NETBALL RESULTS – RD 13
Braybrook Red have held-of a fast-finishing Laverton Magpies team in Victoria University WRFL Netball Division 3 to win their eighth game of the season.
The Magpies outscored the Brookers in the final quarter, but it wasn’t enough to bridge the gap, losing 32-29 in what was a thrilling contest.
Megan Murphy and Cassandra Pell worked well, with duo providing a balanced attack in the goal ring, shooting 17 and 15 goals respectively.
The win keeps Braybrook Red in second spot on the ladder, with three matches remaining in the home and away season.
Point Cook Centrals Tiger Sharks also scored a nail-biting victory over Manor Lakes Storm 3.
Only a couple of goals separated the two teams for much of the match, with the Sharks holding on to win 37-35.
Emily Parsons continued her run of good form in the goal ring, shooting 27 of her team’s goals. She is currently leading the Division 3 goal shooting leaderboard, with 252 goals in 2022 so far.
Ladder-leaders Albanvale Blue continued their winning ways, defeating Lakers Blue 38-23. The Cobras have now won 10 games.
