VU WRFL NETBALL RESULTS – ROUND 3
Laverton White remain the only undefeated team in the Victoria University WRFL Netball Division 4 competition after three rounds.
The Magpies have made an impressive start to the competition, defeating Lakers Black in Round 1, Glen Orden Hawks 1 in Round 2 and on Friday night won against Braybrook 4 33-19.
Laverton’s first half was the difference, with the Magpies heading into half-time 12 goals ahead, thanks to the efforts of Angela Kariba and Tineal Pocock in the goal ring.
Laverton will next face North Footscray Red Devils 2 in a top-of-the-table match on Friday night.
The Devils will head into that match full of confidence after their 56-11 win over Point Cook Centrals Bull Sharks.
It was a dominant performance by North Footscray, who shot 15, 9, 15 and 17 goals in each of the four quarters.
Rebekah Drake was accurate in the goal ring, shooting 40 goals. Bringing her tally across three games to 82.
In the final game of the round, Glen Orden Hawks 1’s final quarter effort helped them run over the top of Lakers Black, winning 27-24.
Scores were level at three-quarter-time, but goalers Rhianna Chick and Mikaella Nelson were able to make the most of their opportunities shooting eight goals between them in the final term.
Glen Orden will aim to score successive wins when they next play Point Cook Centrals Bull Sharks on Friday Night.
