VU WRFL NETBALL UPDATE

In view of the most recent Melbourne lockdown, and in consultation with all WRFL Netball clubs, the WRFL has made the following determinations regarding its VU WRFL Netball season:

• The home & away season will be extended by two weeks (Fri 20/8 and Fri 27/8), reinstating games lost from Rounds 7 & 8 during the previous Melbourne lockdown.
• The WRFL’s intent is to run a two-week finals series commencing Friday 03/09 and concluding the following Friday 10/9. The first Friday (03/09) would see all knock-out finals (1v4/2v3), with the respective grand finals for each division played the following Friday.

In a League survey to WRFL Netball clubs an overwhelming majority of respondents were in favour of this change. Netball fixtures will be updated by Friday.

We are also currently working with our host facility regarding what yesterday’s State Government announcements mean for the return of the VU WRFL Netball competition.
