WARRIORS ANNOUNCE 2020 WOMEN’S TEAM
The Hoppers Crossing Football Club has announced its intention of fielding a Senior Women’s team in 2020.
The club has already appointed Mick Koropeckyj as head coach and have held an information session, with plenty of interest from women in the region.
Koropeckyj said he has previously coached juniors at Hoppers Crossing and has also been around girls and women’s footy, having had a daughter involved in various teams over the past few seasons.
“I couldn’t knock back the opportunity to be a part of the inaugural side,” he said.
Thirteen prospective players attended their first information session last month.
“Since the meeting more people have shown an interest in joining the team, we have about 20-22 players at the moment,” Koropeckyj said.
“Gemma Lee, along with the committee have been a driving force to get this team up and going.
“It has been pleasing to see it all move so quickly.”
Another Information Session will be held at the Hoppers Crossing Sports Club on September 4 at 7pm.
Pre-season will start on November 11.
